Account & Data Deletion

App: Miru Player (Android TV)  ·  Last updated: June 19, 2026

This page explains how to request deletion of your Miru Player (Android TV) account and the personal data tied to it — what we delete, what we are required to keep, and for how long. It applies to the Miru service used by Miru Player (Android TV) and our other Miru apps.

How to request account & data deletion

There are two ways. Both delete the same data.

Option 1 — Delete it yourself (fastest)

You complete deletion on the web, because it requires email sign-in. Open this link on any phone or computer:

  1. Go to miruplayer.app/account/delete.
  2. Select Sign in and enter the email address on your account. We send you a 6-digit code — there is no password.
  3. Enter the code to sign in.
  4. Type your email address into the confirmation box to confirm it is you.
  5. Select Delete forever.

Your account is deleted immediately and you will see a confirmation page.

Option 2 — Ask us by email

If you cannot sign in, email support@miruplayer.app from the email address on your account, with the subject "Delete my account".

  • We verify the request against your registered email address.
  • We complete the deletion within 30 days (usually much sooner).
  • We reply only to the registered email address, so we never act on a request made by someone else.

What gets deleted

When your account is deleted, we permanently erase:

  • Your email address
  • Your active sign-in sessions
  • Any pending, unverified sign-in codes
  • Your curated channel selections
  • The link between your account and each paired TV or device

Within about a minute, every paired device unpairs and its channel list is wiped from the device.

We never store the credentials for your own media sources or your payment-card numbers on our servers: card details are handled solely by our payment processor (Stripe), and your source credentials stay on your own device.

What we keep, and for how long

Some records are kept for legal, tax, or anti-abuse reasons. None of them can be used to identify you from the deleted account.

| What we keep | Why | How long | |---|---|---| | Subscription & billing records (amounts, dates, processor reference — no personal profile) | Tax and accounting law | 7 years, then deleted | | Anti-abuse device marker (a one-way hardware hash) | Stops a deleted account from starting a fresh free trial on the same hardware | Indefinitely | | Deletion record (a one-way hash of your email — we cannot reverse it to your email) | Detect deletion-abuse patterns without keeping personal data | Indefinitely | | Our payment processor's own copy of your subscription | Governed by Stripe's data terms, which we do not control | Per Stripe's policy | | Our email provider's send history (including the final "Account deleted" message) | Governed by Brevo's data terms | Per Brevo's policy |

For the full list of what we collect and how long we keep it, see our Privacy Policy.

What happens when you delete

  1. Your subscription is canceled immediately. Any remaining paid days are forfeited.
  2. All paired devices unpair within about a minute, and their channel lists are wiped.
  3. Your sign-in sessions stop working right away.
  4. Your account data is wiped, except for the records listed above.
  5. You receive one final "Account deleted" email — the last email we will send you.

Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. If you only want to stop being billed but keep your account and access until the end of your paid period, cancel instead of deleting: sign in at miruplayer.app/account and choose Manage subscription.
